Jenny Simon is an economist specializing in public economics and public finance. Her interests range from optimal fiscal policy design, social redistribution and public policies that emerge in unions like the EU to questions in health economics, education financing and aid allocation.
She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics. Prior to moving to Stockholm, she was a Max-Weber-Fellow at the European University Institute. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. Her thesis on “Optimal Policy and the Coexistence of Markets and Governments” was supervised by Daron Acemoglu and Ivan Werning.
